    “CHILD-FRIENDLY Space” (????)

    WHAT SAY YOU?

I strongly believe that main thoroughfares like EDSA- where traffic is always heavy,
    should be maintained as a “child-friendly space”…

    EDSA, unsafe acts of motorists

EDSA, Manila Philippines- Calling the attention of the proper authorities- PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THIS MAIN THOROUGHFARE IS SAFE FOR CHILDREN.

That, I think, is not the case in this picture-not when a small child is being taken for a motorcycle ride, and just being carried through the arms of a passenger  in this small vehicle while the driver keeps on trying to maneuver and to overtake all the big buses and trucks  in there.

The life of a child is more precious that catching up with time- with schedules and all.

i admire your motherly instinct. there’s minimal we can do on this
situation for simple reason it is accepted practice however there
could be a law that prohibits such but it’s not implemented. maybe,
they will, when there will be rush of accidents which involve kids
      passengers on motorcycle.

i must have overthink … there’s no totally safe place for the children
even inside the womb. they are in constant danger from something…
disease, accidents, mother taking drugs, physical mental abuses etc.

parents endanger their children all the time by merely not sending
your kids to school, you are endangering them not to have a decent job.

    “Equality” and “Fairness” :-)

    l@vendergeekvisuals4

The world certainly provides for some kind of "equalizers"...:-)

These  are two different means of transportation. And, these are certainly “not equal” in terms of speed. These are most common vehicles here in the Philippines.

One is motorized- the tricycle; the other is pulled by a horse- the carriage or what we call the “kalesa”.

    Looking at the picture metaphorically-
What could you possibly think about?
What kind of understanding or reflection could you possibly think of?
Hope you won’t mind sharing your thoughts, :-)

both will reach their destination at a given time
maybe some prefer the classic sound of
hooves of a horse akin to music beat of chacha
and slow pace of travel wherein you can hear
conversation as well as respond; also enjoy
      the scenery along the road.

motorcyle when you are in a hurry, well you
have to endure the deafening sound of japanese
technology and fill your lungs with carbon dioxide.

on the other hand progress came to us because
of inequality. people like belo is making lots of
money because of it. i work hard; i don’t
have that much. we try to compensate for
our weakness, our indifference …oh well life
could be so boring if theres no inequality.
i still enjoy looking at the natural beauty of
nature, artistic creation of the living.

thanks, it stimulate my mind. brilliant idea, so simple
but catching. that could be my mountain grown coffee?
      orange juice please.

( picture is recent; i haven’t seen kalesa
      in a long time; that’s upgraded, colorful too;
      i don’t mind riding )

        hehehehe!!! Thanks Manong Eugene, :-)

i took this photo when we were travelling back from Piat (Cagayan). I was supposed to capture the scenery – but since the van was mobile- that photo was the result, lol!!

What strike me most in this photo is that- even two unequal things exists in one place at the same time ( and moving at that), there’s always a sort of equalizer- which is essential for the “weaker/less able”- something that weaker/less able entity could possibly use to “lessen the gap”, so to speak, :-) . In this case, TIME- as magnified by that precise moment captured in that photo- served as somewhat of an “equalizer”; and of course, that given opportunity and even the space as well.

In this photo- I captured that very moment wherein both vehicles, regardless of their speed and capacities, were in a parallel predicament- let met use my imagination a little bit, :-) because from that point on, anything can happen :-) Like say, the motorize vehicle could possibly run out of gasoline- therefore, passengers ahead would definitely ride on the buggy cart- the tricycle driver can’t move as fast as that horse if he’ll chose to just push that tricycle, eh? :-) Take note that in the photo- there’s no gasoline station, lol!!!

Thus, my realization while staring at this photo is that, in any predicament, there’s always a chance, and a choice for one- as long as that person would persevere in looking for that chance, and persevere more in using that to better him/herself. It will definitely make a difference. :-)

well i was reading- then I just happen to look up and then saw those prisms-
i simply picked up my phone and took that shot.

Well, it seem to me that the light becomes more mesmerizing than what was magnified because of it, :-)

    Human Trafficking..:-)

    Here’s something for a humorous Wednesday, :-)

    human trafficking

Just another definition of "human trafficking" LOL!

Well, instead of getting annoyed and frustrated when trapped into “traffic jams” just like that photo above,  I strongly suggest that one has  to have some better things to do- like maybe, doing mental exercises and trying to come up with a doable solution to stop world hunger, etc. But for me, the best way to spent such time would be thinking happy thoughts. I tend to always find something funny even in irritating situations. There goes some kind of well spent “quality time” :-) .

Okay- here are some “plus factors” that one may consider as “benefits  gained” by being a good sport and still remain as a charming piece of humanity when  caught up in similar kind of human entanglement a.k.a. human  traffic jams-

First, one would be spared for a sudden shot of blood pressure- your insurance agent won’t be a happy camper you know.

Second, it would save one a lot more time – which ironically, is everyone’s excuse for their unacceptable, selfish, inhumane displays of   behavior when caught into these human traffic jams (and I mean, some people  just cease to become “humans”- like they would be transformed into some kind of fidgeting, irritated, growling animals wearing fancy corporate get-ups/the professional look or whatever- with the usual bland excuse of meeting deadlines, that their very important, precious, schedules would be ruined!)

As if everybody conspired to create this human traffics just to annoy them, tsk tsk tsk… very important people eh? :-)

Third, one won’t be needing a face lift too soon.

And- there goes my morning “reflections”…

    Smile!! :-)

i was reading then it came to my mind “human trafficking” really is human “trap picking”. i would say
when you’re trap somewhere like bumper to bumper traffic, you could make yourself fruitful by calling your friends so by the time you get home, it would be time to rest or if you are lucky you could have a dinner date or some.
btw in philippines they do have “human trafficking” yes they send them to work overseas.

Manong Eugene, :-) nowadays, humans offers themselves for “human trafficking” :-) that was a joke, of course.

kidding aside- regardless of reasons, one’s choices in life plays a vital role in this..

    Like Water…

I’m in my usual reflective mood and having coffee…

If Life is like water, does it mean that life takes many forms? Does it mean that the essence of life may not be magnified without external factors being thrown into it? Quite possibly- but am sure, others would look at it differently.

Manong Eugene, that’s the contemporary meaning of “emptiness” -
Good luck to that wallet, LOL! :-)

    • timelliscumper 1:41 am on November 17, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Emptiness? Where is that emptiness to be found? How can we be more or less than 100%? It is because we trick ourselves into thinking, believing and feeling – that we are more or less than that 100%.
Our true being is always 100% – our “untrue” being begs to differ.

Can we find a way out of the labyrinth?
      Where is the golden thread?

It starts (always) – here & now – in a quiet mind.
Open perception leads to the discovery that silence is most profound, that the emptiness we imagine cannot exist, that each moment is bursting to the seams with potential, filling us with life.

This way the spirit, the heart can be renewed – of its own accord – filled from an inner spring.

Empty wallets are simply an excuse.

    Wisdom Tooth

And so i went- and there- once again, I fought my fears- the Dentist’s gadgets.

Question- when one’s wisdom tooth’s gone, would it mean that- one is no longer wise? :-)

Kidding aside, what I realize today is that-when that “fear” surfaces, one’s resiliency comes into play as well. Mine seem to rests on being talkative when nervous- as always, hehe. Of course it was painful, when doc carol was pulling my tooth-but I know I have to feel that pain- because I want that tooth gone.

Just like Life- when we decide to let go of something, we have to brace our selves for a painful ride; but at least- we can’t point our fingers to anybody else-that would be nonsensical- it is simply a consequence of a choice we’ve made.

      i wish whatever i do i makes a difference or i prefer
positive aspects of situation, who could refuse that.
i put too much value on my feelings that’s priceless
      to me.
btw wisdom tooth is the last tooth to come from
your caring gum. by that time you have already
accumulated lots of experience inching your
      way in acquiring wisdom.(wise domain)
fear is good, it’s last obstacle to action.
      sometimes it’s a time dealy.
when things didn’t go smoothly i always
come to conclusion i’m part of the process
so i try to iron it out asap. blaming somebody
      sometimes complicate matters.

    Lovely Day

    Hmmm….
    coffee cup almost empty.
    Life’s a blur these days.

What to do in a sunny Monday?
The sun’s warmth is so seductive.
    Makes me wanna sing.

    Too bad-
    my guitar’s broken.

Got to see my dentist later.
and find some lavender roses after.

    *Is this a poem?
